Rutgers Postdoc focused on postsecondary supports for neurodivergent students!
The person will be shared between working with Drs. Vanessa Bal (LifeSPAN Autism Lab) and Joshua Langberg (Center for Youth Social Emotional Wellness). Start date July-Sept 2025.
Percent effort devoted to clinical work, research, and community-engagement is flexible. Responsibilities likely to include:
- Working closely with staff in the Rutgers College Support Program to implement mental health monitoring and supports
- Leading ACCESS groups for students with ADHD or autism, which focuses on building skills to support executive function, knowledge of their diagnosis to foster self-advocacy and understanding, and adaptive thinking to help promote mental health.
- Providing individual or group mental health services (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Behavioral Activation, etc).
- Supervising doctoral students conducting diagnostic assessments for ADHD and/or leading ACCESS groups for students with ADHD or autism.
Specific balance of activities may vary depending on candidate background and professional goals. Postdocs will receive weekly licensed supervision and have opportunities to engage in both assessment and treatment. Applicants primarily seeking additional clinical training and hours towards licensure are strongly encouraged to apply. Opportunities to participate in writing grants and manuscripts are also available.
