The Department of Psychology at Old Dominion University (ODU) invites applicants for a Clinical Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2025. This is an annual 10-month, non-tenure-track appointment. This Clinical Assistant Professor will be responsible for the following:
• Clinical oversight of students on external practicum sites.
• Administrative support to the Virginia Consortium Program Ph.D. program in Clinical Psychology, its initiatives, and its Director of Clinical Training.
• Cultivation of external practicum sites in the Hampton Roads community.
• Teaching graduate courses in the Ph.D. program and/or undergraduate courses in the Department of Psychology to support the ODU teaching mission.
• Assisting with program initiatives to reduce mental health care disparities in the community.
There are no research requirements for this position, though there may be opportunities for research collaboration within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology by August 2025.
2. Licensed or license-eligible as a Psychologist in the Commonwealth of Virginia by August 2025.
3. Ability to supervise Ph.D. students in clinical psychology placements.
4. Ability to teach graduate courses.
5. Ability to contribute to program administration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who have prior experience with community engagement and teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level.

About the Department: The Department of Psychology is in the College of Sciences and includes 30 full-time faculty members, approximately 1,200 undergraduate majors, and 60 students in our graduate programs. The department offers a terminal M.S. and Ph.D. concentrations in Health Psychology, Human Factors, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. The department also participates in the Virginia Consortium Program in Clinical Psychology, an APA approved program. Faculty research is currently funded by NIH, NSF, SAMHSA, NASA, and other entities.
